Just thinking about the forthcoming season and it occurred to me how well our new mangers name goes with the old chant. The chant has been inconsistent in its use in recent years with it seemingly virtually retired during the tenure of BFS and Moyes. Are we looking at a return to it's regular use such as in the glory days of Lyall and Bonds. It always went rather well with Lou Macari I thought too.

The thought of this song being sung to Allardyce, regardless of how well his side may have been doing at that moment just feels very wrong.

We started to sing it for BFS in the BML one game - we were possibly beating Liverpool at the time, but we lost and it thankfully died.

Seems to have been replaced with "We are West Ham's claret and blue army" over recent years

The last manager who regularly had this chant was Pardew in my memory, although Zola had his own song as did Slav.
I am all for getting behind the manager and for them to have a song but on this one I prefer 'We are West Ham's', managers come and go, supporters don't.

the one borderline special needs kid next to me at saints starting chanting "david moyes's barmy army" when the standard "we are west ham's C+B army" chant went up.
bilic got it a couple of times at the boleyn, and vs. palace at the bowl after the whole payet thing.
fat sam never got it. thought it was going to happen when we beat man city but never did, thank god.

I remember 'Curbishley's claret and blue army' being sung away at Fulham in what I think was his second or third game as manager. Didn't happen much after that though.

It was definitely sung at the Chelsea home game, I heard it at other games too.

It was used for Bilic but I don't recall it being used for BFS. I don't recall it being used last year either for Moyes.
